Default G-Tech Pro-SS?

Is anyone running one of these? How do you like it? Is it hard to wire in perminently? I have seen footage of this on the track and it was 1/100 or so off from the track slip. I'm only guessing but I assume it measures crank HP and not RWHP.

I don't know what HP it measures, but I wouldn't expect it to be 1/100th off every time. I wouldn't mind having one, but I wouldn't trust it either.

I like mine, very easy to use, just plug N play having the pitch corrected.
The only thing u need to be aware about is that the street u're using it needs to be in a PERFECT straight line, no slight uphills or downhills or the #s will be wrong.
And about the HP measurements i don't know how to set up that thing, i've read the instructions several times and my HP #s are low 200´s so i just look at the 60ft, 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Cheers

Mine is fairly accurate...I've had it be 1-2/100ths off every time I've run with it compared to the timeslips I've gotten, and that's close enough for me...The HP it measures is based upon calculation from acceleration, weight of the car, how quickly it moves down a set distance, etc...It measures "real world" HP, and is NOT, truth be told, going to be the same as a dyno, since itisaffected by of real world things, like drag/air resistance on the car, slope of a hill, etc. Dynos are stationary, flat surfaces that can't measure based upon drag or air resistance. Besides, we all know that when the manufacturers measure HP, they do so at the crank, and not at thewheels...So, it breaks down to how to measure it, what you consider to be "accurate", etc.

I bought mine to give me an indication of whether I was doing something right from tuning, which it gave me a ballpark idea of the amount of change...And I think it works VERY well for what it does.

I have an older version and have found the results to be very reproduceable, and dead on with what I would expect, although I have no time slips or dyno tests to compare.

Wouldn't hang my hat on it, but if you're experimenting with bolt-ons, driving style, and such, a G-Tech will definitely tell you which direction you're heading and by how much.
