I've run there a few times, my first trip(and first time at any track) I ran a 14.9, 2nd time there I ran a 14.0(in a 40 mph headwind!). Last time I went I was able to run a 13.7 under great 60 degree weather and I'm going in two weeks(the 30th) and see what it'll do now that I've lowered the rear with Roush springs. Fontana(and the Inland Empire in general) is very susceptible to high winds and bad air(all of L.A.'s smog bottles up out there by the mountains). I've seenLS-1s run 11's(on the bottle)and S/C'd S197s run 12's in crappy conditions, then again, these aren't professional racers and I'm certainly no John Force[:@]......

That and it's easy to say STOCK and not be. A New GT is not going to run 13s let alone 13.3. On the other hand, It don't take a lot to make these cars run in the 13s, That little 281 really responds to mods. Just think if Ford made a real motor for the Mustang, like 460 cubic in.
EVERY V8 S197 manual or auto can do mid-high 13´s out of the plant, completely stock.
My 07 auto did 13.8 100% stock.
What? Mine is not stock and haven't gotten under 15.1. Track is 3070 feet and outside air temp was 101.
Have only made one pass but, it disproves your theory.

What track do you run? Post up your time slip!

That just proves that you can't drive, 15.1 is absolutely horrible.

These cars have no trouble running mid to low 13s on a good track with a decent driver. I even saw a time slip awhile back of someone who ran 12.9 stock, the same day he bought the car.

Occassionaly you will see someone run a 13.4 on a stock S197 V8. I know a guy on here that did, though we won't see more from him, he recently changed out to an 03 cobra I think. So I can see it.

A bone stock S197 V8 running 12's is highly doubtable. I know S198 V8's with bolt ons trying to break 12s, nope, for that one, the BS meter is going off big time.

You need practice, or something is wrong with your car. My PT Cruiser GT ran quicker than that.

Your 60 ft time is shameful, that's why your ET sucks. Anyone should be able to run 2.1-2.2 60's with practice.

I can't believe you just showed everyone how much you suck at driving. I'd keep that to myself next time. Seriously, that's embarassing. [:-]
