Default How did they get a 13.3/13.4@103mhp

hey guys i was watching this dvd that came with mustangs and fast fords. and i was wondering how in the hell they got a bonestock 06 5 speed to run a 13.3 and a 13.4@103 mhp. the only thing is it had a functional ram air hood, can that be why its running that fast and the fact they have a damn good driver?

It's the damn good driver factor. I'm guessing it was also cool out and on a track near sea level. What issue came with a DVD?

That and it's easy to say STOCK and not be. A New GT is not going to run 13s let alone 13.3. On the other hand, It don't take a lot to make these cars run in the 13s, That little 281 really responds to mods. Just think if Ford made a real motor for the Mustang, like 460 cubic in.

no they said it was a real hot day, um i dont knowwhat issue i got it in iraq about 4 months ago, but its a good dvd they put on a cai and tune and show the increases on a dyno they do this for a throttle body, full exhaust, gears, suspension (well no power increase for this one), someother bolts ons, and finally the supercharged it. with everything they put on they got 12.22@116 in the 1/4 on a hot day as well.

WTF are you talking about a stock GT won't run 13's? I've personally seen one run 13.6 @ 102 bone stock to the paper filter at the track.

I find it hard to believe that someone got a stock GT to run 13.3 stock though.

12.2 and thats with the 20´s that IMO they should´t have gone with 20´s if they´re trying to proove the car can go fast, 18´s is more than enough or should´ve kept the 17´s and threw in some DR´s.

EVERY V8 S197 manual or auto can do mid-high 13´s out of the plant, completely stock.
My 07 auto did 13.8 100% stock.

*Track Preparation*

on a well prepped track with a good driver these things will go 13's all day long on the stock Pirelli's. The reality is most guys don't know how to drive half as well as they would like to think they do.

right i realize that stock the car can do 13.5-13.9 ect. but 13.3/and a 13.4 is just wow, and they said the only thing it really had done to it was the ram air hood that was functional.

Duh! New MM&FF editor Evan Smith( a.k.a. Revving Evan) is a professional drag racer and does almost all of the drag testing at MM&FF. He's gotten a stock GT500 to run 12.24(when every other mag was just barely getting 12.7-12.9s). So, yeah, it's a fact that a S197 GT will go 13.3-13.4 stock.
These guys at MM&FF are people that live & breath(and race-especially drag race) Mustangs. Why does it seem hard to understand? There's video on these Forums where a member has run a 13.43 completely stock, it's a Tungsten GT(can't remember his name, but he has a green LT-1 Trans Am too)
