Hi All!

Just picked up my 07 GT/CS Convertible from the dealer on Saturday (and, yes, I know I need to take some pics of it, but it's hard to take pics when you never want to get of the car ), and while I have knowledge with a manual transmission, and have driven them on several occasions, I lack day-to-day experience with one, hence my question.

Does the manual trannys on the GTs seem overly loud to anyone? I'll admit I'm not the best shifter yet, but it's not like I'm jerking it all over the place and killing it (although I have killed it once or twice[:@]). The car feels to be behaving fine, but just seems to definitely want to let you know when you've shifted. I've even tried going through the gears just sitting in the parking lot, and it still seems loud compared to some other manuals I've driven. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The TR3650 has tendency to clunk some. Practice and timewill eliminate some of it, and being a little firmer on the gas, when releasing the clutch on upshifts, helps too.

Yes, my tranny whines and clunks as well... i worried about it at first, but ive been driving it like this for 3000 miles now and it hasn't gotten worse or fell out yet... My first, second and third gears all whine and howl pretty loud... and when you shift you can fell it clunking around... dont worry, just drive the crap out of it!

 

Mine makes some noise but it hasn't seemed to hurt anything either. I think they are just plain loud.

 

Mine doesn't sound much different than the PT Cruiser my wife had.

 

Tranny and driveshaft both clunk and whine![:@]
