That's great, congrats...You just made it harder for me to wait for my 4:10's...

Your husband sounds like a GREAT GUY!!! I wish I had someone in my life to pimp out my car just because...
Dude, you are absolutely right on with that one!!!! He is the best guy a girl can have, and a friend for that matter!! I have to admit, having an SVT technician in the family has MAJOR perks and I will never complain too much when he tells me "no" on some things I pick out for my stang!!! He always supports me when he knows its a good pick!!!! He was one tired ***** the next day!!! lol

To anyone really...but what's the range of prices I can expect to have gears installed? I live in NY if that matters to anyone's calculations--thanks!

I'll concur with the rpms at 70, 75 mine are right at 2500rpms in 5th.

4.10's should work out good for the 1/8, atleast until you start trapping in the 90's.

how's the rmp at 70mph?
At 70mph Im sitting between 2200 & 2400rpm. I got a wild hair getting on the interstate and got it up to 90mph and I was over 3000 rpm!!!! It was insane. Im setting my car up for the 1/8 mile track so this is certainly not for hwy cat and mouse fights!!! lol (not that I would anyway )

The cars look great but be careful with getting on it so soon before the gears have time to break in. I would advise after 1000 miles to change the oil and put in synthetic. During the break in process you will get metal filings at the bottom of the case. Be sure to wipe those out and spray down the whole gear set with cleaner before puting more oil in.

I love my 4.10s and I wouldn't go down a ratio at all, unless I get an assignment back to Europe somewhere. I do 90% hwy driving right now. But for the states these gears are great, ifthe stang would never see the hwy I'd rock 4.30s or maybe 4.56s behind a T-56. 4.10s are thebest thing since next to cold beer.

Arent they a blast. The power is right where you need it. At 80 I'm at 2800-2900, flirting w/ 3000 but thats fine. The cars look great. I also took a nice shot w/ my friends car after the conversion. Enjoy.

I was giving the 4.10’s some serious thought, but then I talked to my dad.
He has a 04 Vette with 4.10’s and told me he wouldn’t do it again.
He says that when gettin’ on it, first gear is instant redline, and after checking the numbers I calculated that I would be relined in half the time as he is.

So for those with 4.10’s what does 1st and 2nd feel like?
Does 1st gear redline right away?

What exactly qualifies as right away? 1st gear is still useableon the streetand in a race. But who really stays or cruises in redline? I start in second a bit especiallyif its wet outside but 1st is still plenty streetable. Real men run 4.10s, Chuck Norris runs 4.88s behind a Kenne Bellsprayin a 250 shot.[sm=crossbonesgif.gif]

But seriously anyone pushin a N/Amanual has no reason to not run 4.10s, Don't fear the gear.
