Default OffRoad Xpipe w. SLP Loudmouths, Dear God

Ordered my O/R Xpipe from Summit, came quick.

Install was straight forward, fitment was just ok. One pipe didn't quite fit into the other and needed to be banged up a little bit.

The car is RIDICULOUSLY loud now though and it sounds less than good. I'm afraid to open the car up because the exhaust puts my ears in pain at anything above 2500rpm. Above 2200rpm the car trumpets like no other, and there is drone all over the place, enough to make the cabin rattle. The exhaust sounds raw but in a metallic clanky way.

I can barely keep up with traffic without drawing attention to myself. To keep the car from going into wake the friggen dead mode I was shifting right when it began to trumpet, below 2000rpm at partial throttle. People were accelerating around me, I'm pretty sure they thought my car was broken... embarrassing.

I'm thinking that something placed before the axle should be able to help me out. What’s the difference between resonators and glasspacks? Which is going to be more helpful to smooth out the exhaust tone? I don't mind having a loud exhaust, but I'd like it to sound deep and smooth. Like my car did with just the Loudmouths, but louder.

That was not meant to be sarcastic....alot of board members have found the SLP's to be obnoxiously loud with any o/r pipe, as you have.

A lot of people are happy with the o/r and the stockers. Much more pleasant sound and there is no real horsepower loss.

How much louder is the o/r x pipe with stock exhaust, than factory midpipe and stock exhaust?I want mine louder than it is right now (stock), but not too loud. Do you have lt headers or just factory exhaust manifolds. I want the power increase with headers, but if i put an o/r xpipe on but leave the factory exhaust on, won't that eliminate my hp gains from the headers (bottleneck)?

If you want something louder than stock but not too loud, just get slp loudmouths and leave the rest alone. Its a beautiful tone and loud enough to keep you satisfied.

+2...at the very least a o/r pipe is fine ..you must have high flow cats...especially with the SLP..
