Why even bother with the gt500? Just for the name, performance or bragging rights? If it's just for performance, you'd be better off putting that $11k markup into your current mustang.

I saw two GT500s on the floor of the dealer (New Braunfels, TX) where I picked up my GT last week. Both were MSRP and they were willing to deal. Both GTs were several thousand cheaper than the SC Saleens. This dealer had moreSaleens and Roushes than they hadMustang GTs. Looked to me like they were overstocked on the "Customs".

I did a quick check on eBay, and the lowest priced "buy it now's" are going for 54k, most are 59k and that's for a 2007 model.

Call them tomorrow and see if they are still on the floor. They were in the 40's. There is only one dealer in New Braunfels, Texas.

Welcome to theShelby World. I was just curious if you were even looking for a Shelby, and if so do you think your pastpurchases from this dealer gives you the right to the Almighty MSRP. If thats the case then tell the dealer that you will give him 5k under MSRP because of customer loyalty and see how fast he starts the paper work.(dont hold your breath) People either want a Shelby or not ! People will pay the price or not! But dont cry about 11k over MSRP when many of us have paid that or a hell of alot more. And yes I also have a 06 f-150 and a 04 focus in my driveway and know that there is no such thing as prefered customer loyalty. [sm=wakeup.gif]

Just called New braufels in Texas and they have a 07 blue vertfor 49k with a 11k mark up. I offered MSRP for a white w/t red stripe pkg where I bought my 07 Shelby Cobra at 57k at Fuller Ford in San Diego this weekend and the manager told me that he rather sell it on ebay. Not trying to be a major A$$WHOLE but thats what they go for. If you really want one look for a used one and you just might find it for under MSRP.

what a jerk, if i had been ur salesman and had sold u 8 cars within nine years and u wanted a gt500, i would've given it to u for its price not marked up, seeing that you made me commission on eight other cars and now a ninth and if i keep you happy, maybe many others, thats the way these salesman should think!

Blame who you want I blame ford b/c our mustangs should have been to that spec. for a long time now. Ford has the technology to produce better, more powerful cars and they didn't until the new gt500. Now you can expect to never get close to sticker for one of those, b/c of the ppl buying them 15k over price.
