Default brespeed with stock box and filter

Has anyone used a brenspeed 93 octanetune with the stock air box and filter with really good results?I am interested in ordering but thought if not that much different in perfomance I could save about $200 clams and on plus side if it getsany warrenty workit will at least look stock from that aspect.
Thanks for the advice

The tune is the part that voids the warranty.........and you are missing 10 HP without the CAI atleast.

I realize the tune would void the warrenty but as stated it will look stock for casual warranty work.Although I did not realize the filter would make a 10h.p. difference. Thanks for the info.

A good intake is worth 10-15hp. Both the tune and intake can be removed, and the dealer will never know if you have to go in for warranty work.

Well, the GT500 has basically the exact same air intake and filter and it has no problem finding air to allow 500 hp production. IMO you buy the CAI for the looks.

interesting you should mention this...a week ago today I rec'd my brenspeed xcal2 and uploaded the 93 tune but retained stock air box using a k&n drop. Excellent results, but I just ordered the C&L cai on Wednesday after all...I figure I might as well go full nine. My stupid a$$ could have saved about 80 bucks if I just did the combo in the first place. Oh well, at least Brent's cool about a free tune with each new mod through him ifyou bought the xcal from him.
p.s. for warranty work just swap it back around and reload the factory tune.

This is kind of confusing....

Is there an HP difference between stock and C&L CAI?

Is a different tune required from Brenspeed for example if you are using the stock airbox - or do you just use the same tune as with a CAI?

Seems like opinions vary...

The GT500 airbox is very different than the regular GT and V6 box. The opening on the bottom is larger. The pleates in the filter are deaper. The top has an oval outlet and is raised slightly so it flows better. A stock GT500 picks up about 15-20RHWP above 4000rpm from an intake.

1. yes a different tune is req. for stock airbox vs. CAI for example I get a new tune when my C&L arrives

2. there is a dyno proven difference for the CAI vs. stock airbox, butnoticing +10hp on a 300hp+ car, seat of the pants could be tough...
