That was it! Unfortunately the vibration still comes on around 3250 and feels a lot worse with the belt off and tires off the ground.

Did you check the wheels for missing balance weights?

yes I did and I also rotated them just to be sure. It Didn't change a thing. It's either internal or it's my clutch/transmission. Can't be the driveshaft because it's there with the stock one and my 1 piece (I have the stocker on right now). I'm probably going to get a tune for the stock airbox so I can change my gear ratio and then take it to the dealer and tell them it's retuned to correct the speedo and see what they say.It was there before the gear install and may have been there since new and I didn't notice it until swapping the driveshaft. I was hoping the gear install would have moved it in the rpm range which would have told me it was driveline related, but it didn't change. It's just an annoyance, but if it's something damaged in the engine it will only get worse.

Also, it doesn't do it with the car in nuetral and rev'd to 3200.

Can you tell i've been reading up on rpm related vibrations?

If you really want to see how the TCS works, just lift your rear wheels off the ground and gun it. It shut me down quick and wouldn't go no matter how much gas I gave her. I'm going to email brent and have him shut off TC in my 91 tune, my 93 with TC turned off still pings, must be the crappy exxon gas.

ok moose, is the car still on the stands?

if so, have you considered dropping the drive shaft for
the next test? i know it's not what you want to do, but
maybe it'll tell us something....

No it's not. I have to do 1 test at a time because my wife allready thinks i'm crazy. I had planned on disconnecting the driveshaft from the transmission and running it up to speed, but i'm not sure what it would tell me if the vibe is gone. Does that mean it's in the rear end or does it mean the transmission output shaft is causing it, but doesn't show up without a driveshaft connected. I'll do some more tests in the next few days. The car is perfectly driveable and really only annoying when sitting at that rpm, if you accelerate quickly it's not even noticeable.

i hear you...
with the DS disconnected:
vib = no meanswe don't gain great info
vib = yes means we know for sure it's engine/trans related

I'll do that test next chance I get, shouldn't take me long, i'm an expert at removing the driveshaft. My wife gets bitchy when i spend to much time with the car. I had read that a clogged fuel injector can cause a misfire and thus a vibration, but I don't see how it would always be at the same rpm if that were the case. Now if I did bend something in the engine, i'd expect it to still vibrate even in neutral, but maybe not.
