Another random question that i have been curious about for awile.....

Will the 18x9 18x10 Chrome bullits from my 03 GT fit on the 08 GT? I keep hearing something about the 'offset' of the wheels... If mine wont fit can i modify them so that they will?
They'll fit, but they are gonna stick out a little, although some people like that type of look, although you'll need taller tires(the S197's tires are 1.5-2" taller than SN95/New Edge cars).

I would go for the coupe. You'll most likely find that you just won't use the vert enough and will wish you had a coupe over the long haul. The coupe is also a more rigid vehicle and will handle better; the vert will have a little "cowl shake". Also, typical convertibles weigh 150 to 200 lbs. more, so I am suspect of the C&D test that its a little faster. Maybe they tested a vert. w/ a different rear end ratio or conditions were different between tests. The coupe has more rear seat room and probably more trunk space. The coupe has better aerodynamics than the vert. The coupe is quieter on the road due to the added insulation and aerodynamics.

Contrary to what an earlier poster said, the price difference is considerably more than $2000 between a coupe and a convertible. If it had not been forthe 0%/72 month deal late last summer, I would have bought a coupe.

Only you can decide if the extra dollars are worthwhile.

Well I can help you out with the pics of a black vert with roll bar. They are the original pics from the dealer before I bought the car and they aren't the greatest, sorry. Its the Roush 'light bar' and it was on the car when I bought it so I don't really have any insight on install, etc. But to anwer your question, I'd definitely say vert all the way! Theres NOTHING like going over 100 with the top down, and if you're not a speed demon there's nothing like enjoying your sunrise ride to work, in the warm months, with the wind blowing through your hair. I have to agree with Ilmor in that we don't have as great of handling or 0 to 60 times but that can always be helped with MODS! That is if you have any cash left over for them. Ultimately only you can decide I guess so either way be sure to post to brag about your new baby when you do get it!
Peace,
Fatimah

Hm its going to be a HARD decision.... Exactly how durable are these tops? Is it something that can last the life of the car or is it something that will have to be replaced every 2 years?

I've had a couple of convertibles before (Not Mustangs) and I like the concepta lot. However, I just think that the Mustang has always had a problem with the way the folded roof looks when down. It's a half a$$ed job at best, we don't want to see all the rails etc sticking up on the sides, we want all that stuff out of eye sight, right?

That's onlymy 2c of course. One thing though, if you do go for the soft top, pay the extra and go with the fabric material, not the stock plastic. It wears (10 years easy) and looks better, no question there..

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I've always been a coupe guy.

I dont like the way verts look with the top up.

Lots of people dont like the way the coupe vettes look with the top off though. I guess its all a matter of oppinion.
