Axle Hop?
I know the new Mustangs have a "Live Rear Axle". I had a Mercury Marauder with a Live Rear Axle, but that axle was different than other Crown Vics or Grand Marques. That Marauder DID NOT HAVE ANY REAR AXLE HOP, which always surprised me because every other car I've ever owned, that had a live rear axle had axle hop, when going over small ripples or bumps, while in a curve. After many Front Drives, and Rear Drive IRS cars, that Marauder was the first live axle car I had in years.

Everyone on here swears by aftermarket LCA's to solve the problem. I can't speak to them myself yet. I am pricing getting some installed with a one peice DS at the moment. However, currently I have wheel hop![:@]
i'd have to say yes, based on the physical makeup
of the rear suspension and visualizing what happens
while turning and hitting a rock or bump

I know the correct solution is new rear control arms/bushings, but just wanted to put my two cents in: my car only wheel hops while spinning the tires in a certain rpm range...if I rev it to around 4K and pop it while messing around doing burnouts, feathering the gas at 6K andcontinuing intosecond when the tires finally stop spinningin first(mature, I know...)I get zero. If I happen to spin them around 2-3K, it hops so bad I think the car's dashboard is gonna land in my lap. Same with just spinning tire on upshifts...just wanted to share; I know there have been numerous threads about this is andthe correct solution is new rear suspension pieces (steeda's stop-the-hop package), but just wanted to share how I deal with it...p.s. I'm running the pirelli pzero nero 235/55r17s (I think some people have claimed their hop went away with some BFG KDWS or similar)...
For me the wheel hop only happened when I nailed the throttle mid turn. Instead of kicking sideways the axle would hop violently. After my suspension mods I can kick out the rear at will and it feels very controllable.
