Hurst Vs. Stock.. (I DONT MIND THE STOCK THROW)
Hey guys..
i have done a little bit of lookin around, and thought about a hurst bc i loooveee the way that bad boy looks, chrome shaft wiht a black ball..
but i dont mind the stock shifter at all.. like im thinking i want the throw how it is.. bc i think i enjoy it more.. i have drivin a few cars wiht short throws in it..and i think it takes some of the feeling away.. i dunno.. just me..
but i was wondering, i saw a short throw by i think like MGD or some place like that that had an ajustable one..
either way, my point is, i want a hurst!.. just dont want to give up the stock feeling..
call me crazy.. but let me hears some feed back..

When I first installed my hurst I wasn't sure if I liked the feel of the shorter throw. It was a little harder to get into gear, but after about a week it started to break in and I got use to the feel. The 2-3 shift is amazing now, I can chirp into third pretty easily with it. The main reason I got it was for the look, but now the shorter throw has grown on me and I'm liking it more and more.

The Hurst has a much shorter gear-gear distance and is a lot "notchier" than the factory shifter. The factory shifter, while smoother, caused me to miss gears occasionally (mostly going from 2nd to 5th[:@]). The Hurst is just so positive when changing gears. As for looks, retro value, etc.., it's perfect for the car!

I never had a shifting issue with my stock setup but, like you, liked the look of the Hurst and went for it. I love it to death Only thing I will probably do to mine is swap out the Hurst supplied polyurethane bushings for the original stock rubber ones, to make the feel & sound less clunky..
You will hear a lot of "After it broke in it was better" type stuff. I don't know what that means, it's a remoteshifter linkage, nothing on it 'breaks in', you merely get used to it, which you will also.

I've had many compliments on how much people like the Hurst. Especially from older people. I wasn't crazy about it when I first got it but I love it now. I have the white ball, but I've been thinking about either a black or polished/chrome ball.

You'll get used to it, go for the Hurst. I have an 05 with stock shifter and when I go from my 07 to the 05 I can barely drive it. Shifting with the flip of a wrist is great, and knowing you are in 3rd is priceless.
