4:10 Gears...Shift at what Speed?
Can anyone with 4:10 gears and a 5spd tell me what speed you shift gears at now that you have 4:10's? Like how far 1st to2nd, 2nd to 3rd etc...Was thinking about getting them, just wondered how much it shortened the gears. Thanks

Thats really not a dumb answer , Guy.
It really makes no difference what SPEED you are at when you shift. What counts is the RPMs that you shift at. Red Line is Red Line , what ever gear you have.

I think his question was what speed (mph) is the redline in each gear with 4.11...
(1)3.38 x 4.11 = 13.89(35 mph @ 6250 rpm)
(2)2.00 x 4.11 = 8.22 (59 mph @ 6250 rpm)
(3)1.32 x 4.11 = 5.43 (90 mph @ 6250 rpm)
(4)1.00 x 4.11 = 4.11 (119 mph @ 6250 rpm)
(5).675 x 4.11 = 2.77 (176 mph @ 6250 rpm)
This is given a tire with 767.5 revolutions per mile.A difference inshift point or tire size will of course change this.

I agree its more about RPM's than speed. But you can go by either. Owner's manual will usually give a suggested guide but I'm not sure if they do with the 4:10. Basically I go by if you want to save gas then shift around 2.5 - 3k RPMs and if you want speed then red line it. Also depends on your driving style. Just my opinion, good luck.

RE: 4:10 Gears...Shift at what Speed?
why would you even shift at redline?
Our peak HP is reached at lower rpms.
Of course what speed you shift at all depends on how much throttle is being given...
