I had a friend years ago, older man who has since passed. He had a late 60's Chevy truck that he had to park in the bad part of KC for his job. The truck was broken into a couple of times, so he put a Ford Model T or A coil (capacitor) under the hood, wired to the battery through a switch near the rear bumper. He used a piece of wood on his key chain to flip the switch.

When the system was "armed" anyone who touched the truck got shocked - big time, like flat on their back.

Probably not an option now with computers and lawyers. But it is a pleasent day dream.

well that sucks! im leaving town for the weekend and leaving the car at the dauhters house so no one will drive by and egg it. to easy for these low lifes where i rent to do that.

I honestly don't know why people vandalize other peoples property. I have seen plenty of extremely nice cars and never had the urge to run a key down the side or crack a few eggs on the hood...

@midlife: I honestly feel bad for you. You have to worry about getting keyed, scuffed up rims, and lisence plate stolen.

[sm=violent053.gif]What a *uck! Gutless, little $hit that probably wouldn't confront you one on one. Man, I have had wonderful luck up to now(knock on wood), have never had a car scratched or dented by a jealous POS and I don't chalk it up to karma, 'cause that would mean that you did something to deserve this.
We're just in an age where people are impatient, rude and thoughtless. All the family values jargon and united we stand[sm=icon_blah.gif]makes me so disappointed in the direction we(as a society) are going in. Nothing to do with being American, but just being a thoughtful, considerate human being.

My heart goes out to you. In all the years that I've owned cars, I have had at least a dozen cases of vandalizing. Once someone got on top of my car and jumped up,and down on it and caved it in. Once my car was keyed from front to back. Both times I was at a shopping mall. My current stang was keyed at my work, and I work at a military base. I hope that who ever did that to your car gets his hands blown off by some fireworks today!!!
