Yeah I need to remove the part because I am going to have it reupholstered and it need to be shipped pretty soon. How would I go about removing the whole dash board?

I'll post pics when I'm done of the final product.

Check out this page on the S197 forums. http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=611 You have to register to gain access but it has a decent amount of PDFs from the S197 tech manual.

I guess the link is restricted...thus the dashes. But well where the dashes are it should read s197 forum <----NO SPACES BETWEEN S197 and forum. Censorship drives me nuts...x.x

Ok I found a picture with it off, it's pretty clear that the dashboard slides in with 2 guide pins on each side and is held on by a mere 6 screws on the black part seen above.

The hard part is acessing those 6 screws. It REALLY seems like a catch 22 at that point, you can't get to the screws without having acess to the dash and you can't acess the dash without getting to the screws.

Legion were you able to find out exactly how the dashboard (top piece) comes out? those 6 holes dont look like screws, more like pop-in pieces. if so please let me know, im taking apart the dash again for the 6th time this coming weekend, but ive never taken the dashboard out. As well if anyone else has hints that'd help too

ski, thanks for posting that, its a very interesting video that ill keep in mind if my gauges go bad, but Ive taken out the gauges before haha so far Ive taken the dash many times now, each at a different time and different reason lol
1. HU Install
2. Gauge Cluster Replacement (MyColor)
3. Custom carbon fiber dash
4. Alarm install
5. Boss steering wheel install
6. shelby door kickers and custom amp installed under airbag

So I know my way very well around dismantling the dash, but I havnt instigated taking apart the dash board/pad/top piece that stretches the whole width of the cabin.... I may have to do another write-up! lol
