Curious to the history of other peoples mustang past ownership. If the S-197 was your first or if there have been others. And which one you liked best overall.


As for me I had a 66 and an 02 GT. All though the 06 is the faster of them all I still miss the 66.

The one that started it all.

My first was a 90 GT back in 1998. Back then the 96-98 GTs were damn slow and nobody had come up with any mods yet, so I never considered owning one. I had an '88 lx 5.0 notch for a few weeks back in the spring before the repair bills > worth of vehicle, so I gave up the ghost and picked up my 07 GT...much more refined than the old pushrod, low-rpm 5.0, yeah I'm not lookin back anytime soon, the 4.6 is in its heyday, evolved from those slower sn95s...

first mustang, 2nd car though, had a C230 with 240,000 miles on it and the tranny brike down on me i was actually happy b/c that meant i needed a new car

My first. I have always drooled over mustangs.. and had a very brief opportunity to get one. Now that i have my foot in the door.. I plan on keeping this car and giving it to my kids...and getting another one for my self... maybe a vert for the wife one day. All depends on how much $ I have.

I'll have to scrounge up a picture, but my first stang (and car for that matter) was a used green '70 V6. Bought it from my girlfriend. This was in 1985. Nothing special, but I loved it. Then it fell apart from rust, literally - I put the brakes on one day to avoid a fender bender, and the shock tower separated from the frame. I was devastated. Sold it to some dude for $500 bucks - he probably restored it.

Fast forward about 20 years, 2 kids, and several emotionless cars later. I'm in the market for a BMW or Acura - 4 doors (kids). Then one night I seeand hear an 05 GT pulliing out of a parking lot after a conference, and the love for Mustangs just came flooding back. I still remember that night like it wasyesterday.I knew I had to have one. But this time a GT.

I tell ya, that night changed the course of my life. I'd be driving some pretentious, overpriced status symbol vehicle right now if I didn't see that 'Stang. I was on a path to pointless look-at-me materialism. Now I'm loving life in my muscle car and embracing my blue-collar roots. There's just something about a 'Stang!

my first was a 68 fast bac with a 351 winsor in it my second was an 05 v6 and know i have an 05 gt so third and each one was awsome but i miss my 68 but i do love the power and control that my gt has over them all. due to my 68 went straight very fast but didnt like turns

My first stang was an 88 GT vert that was completely stock. My last stang that I sold for the 05 GT was a 99 Cobra vert with some bolt ons.
