why didnt you just tap into 1 of the hot wires under the overhead lites. it auto shuts off after about 15 min and comes back on with the fob or door?

That red ugly looking 1/4" scotchlock power take off connector.
I see it and its NOT FACTORY. Its a crappy insulation displacement
connector. YUCK. Prone toprematurefailure and intermittent problems.

And that white NON FACTORY wire that heads off to the
left also. Whats in the headliner to the left that needs a wire?
The OEM harness runs right and down the windshield trim
to the dash and SJB. Most all wires in the Stangs nowdays
are duel color with a tracer. I dont see a tracer on that white
wire and my shop manual elecrical diagram does not have
it either. Are you the original owner or did you buy it used?

I am the original owner. In looking at some of the other pics I did when I installed my raptor, that NON FACTORY wire runs over the headliner, down the piller, then terminates below. Pondering the question for awhile, the only explanation I can come up with for the NON FACTORY wire, as well as the NON FACTORY red Scotchlok connector (which appears to be connected to thewhite wire) is the possibility that the aftermarket alarm installer may have tapped in there for his power source. Don't know for sure, but it's a great question. Soon as I get some daylight, I'm gonna find out where the wire terminates.....

Yep, thats the dome light feed for the alarm. Dont know why he went
all the way up to the overhead to tap the wire. Its available under the
dash at the SJB. Must not be that much of a professional to do that
and them use a IDC connector. Solder and 2 stage heatshrink for
me all the way. Heck, I am not even going to cut my harness to hook
up my Raptor. I went to the junkyard and got the igncoil and connector
and I am going to make a male/female jumper and tap into that making
it fully removable in the future. I had a car alarm that used factory plugs
to interface with the vehicle. It is available for the 05-07 mustangs also.

I don't understand the purpose of the button and LED's in the console... I mean you're hanging the unit just a couple of inches away on the glass. I could see the benefit of the remote button and display if you were hiding the unit behind the grill or something... am I missing something? Does the remote unit give you something the detector itself doesn't?
