Default Painted mirrors (Finally!!)

Well 3 weeks laterI finally got it done. Drove 2 weeks with sanded down mirrors waiting for my paint to come in and then Transformers came out so I had to wait (wanted to drive the stang lol).

Heres whatI used
Sandpaper (To sand)-$15
Iso Alcohol (To Clean)- $3
Adhesive Promoter ( For paint primer clear to stick well)- $4.50
Primer (For priming)- $4.50
Basecoat (Had to wait 2 weeks for it to be mixed)- $25
ClearCoat- $4.50
Masking Tape- I have boxes of this tape I dont know how much it cost.
So overall it cost 60-70 with tax which is much better than what some shops wanted like200 JUST to paint andno sanding. With sanding they said it would be 400 since it is such a odd job. Its a greatmatch to the paint and as smooth as glass.

Heres a better shot

One of the main ingredients that kept me sane during sanding/painting.

Also the MAIN ingredient in getting a job this done RIGHT is taking your TIME with prep work. Sanding/primingwas hours!

All I saw was....

Tomorrow I will post pics of them on the stang since they are still drying.

LOL For people really into mustangs they will notice but your avarage joe will see something diff but will not be able to pin point it. The whole overall look of the car issoomuch cleaner. At 1st whenI got my stang I did not even care but as time went onI noticed some members had done it and it started to bug me seeing my black mirrors. Till this day though (owned my stang almost a year) I have yet to see painted mirrors on a 05+ in person.

Yea, with my luck I'd get mad and throw my mirrors somewhere in a rage because I'm nowhere near that patient haha

I sanded my mirrors down my self and then had my local paint shop do the mirrors and calipers for me. It only cost 70 bucks so it was a no brainer. I will say that I hate sanding and it sucks sooo much....though it was worth it in the end. It gave it a cleaner more slick look to it and I love it!!
