they came out very smooth, i screwed up a small area when wet sanding, but other then that barely noticeable blemishthey match the car perfectly. $5 for paper, $5 for primer, paid $60 to have em painted.

When you sand your mirrors wear gloves! I diden't it sanded myself on accident and when you sand fast it creates friction and it got hot REAL FAST. I wonder if using 100, 200, 300, primer, 400 wet sand, 400 dry would bring the same results?
hows about i mail you my mirrors and you tell me

so about how many hours would you say went strictly to sanding? i would love to do it myself but i would rather do it all at once even if it took the entire day, that way i won't have to drive around with half *** mirrors until i'm done
Hour and a half sanding each one. 60 80 100 (all dry); 220320400 (all wet) [3 hours total sanding]

No need to sand after adhesion promoter or primer if doing in straight sequence through base and CC. otherwise just sand after adhesion-promoter/primer is done, with 400 wet (the day before you bring to the shop)

Let me throw these questions out there... (Ive read cherod's write-up but still confused...)

1. Is the adhesion promoter used as the primer? Or is primer needed after the promotor?

2. Once sanding is finished, go to the promoter then paints, with no more sanding being done?

3. If Im correct let promoter dry for 6 hours then base coat it, let dry for 5 minutes then basecoat again, let dry for 25 minutes then clearcoat, let dry for 5 minutes then another clear coat?

For primers, base and clear I use autobody supply paints and my own guns; so I'm not using spray cans but if you are, simply follow directions on them. Generally you do not sand between paints, you spray one after the other has dried 20-30 mins(if you get a run then you have to sand it out). I did use Bulldog adhesion promoter in aerosol.

1) the adhesion promoter is not used as the primer; primer goes over it.
2) Once sanding is finished, go to the promoter then paints, with no more sanding being done. The only sanding would be to correct a run or if you are a professional with clear coat you will sand it with 2500 or 3000 and rotary buff to a no orange peel finish.
3) Sounds like you are using all aerosol cans, simply follow instructions there and in the absence of any on this let dry 30 mins before next step.
