Flowmaster A/B with O/R H-pipe...

Flowmaster A/B with O/R H-pipe...
I recently installed an offroad H-pipe with my american thunder axleback and i'm not sure if I like the sound. Whe under light excelleration(sp?) right before the car shifts gears I get a nasty sound from the mufflers. It kinda sounds like when you take a bat and rattle it around inside an aluminum garbage can. Is that normal with this set up? If anyone with the same exhaust setup can chime in and let me know if something is wrong that would be great. The only thing I can think of is that there is something wrong with the mufflers.

i have the flow a/b but am looking into getting either an o/r x or h pipe, curious what others have to say about this post! i do notice when i first start the car i hear something similar to what you are saying but it is just for a brief second. I have noticed that as the mufflers warm up during driving the sound gets louder and deeper, when cold it sounds a little tinny(sp?) metal like for a better choise of words.

There is that "trumpeting" noise around 2500-3000 rpms on mine. Next meet take me for a ride in yours, and vice versa.

do. not. get. an. offroad. x. pipe. with. flowmasters.
it sounds too horrible for words.
o/r h with AT's is kinda pushing it. i think flowmaster failed when designing mufflers for this car.

i'm finally ditching my flow a/b because of the same thing you don't like about it with no cats. the machine gun sound gets old...
I just ordered some GTAs, hopefully those will be better.

We just got back from a short cruise and I think its just the normal nature of the combination. He has auto so has less control over avoiding those certain RPM's when it makes the sound.
When he left my house it sure sounded sweet tho! [sm=happybounce.gif]
