Default 4.6 Engine Building Suggestions?

I'll plead I have no expertise building engines or what to do so I'm asking for suggestions (I been a bolt on queen for a lot of years).

Here my dilemma I have a4.63 valve that's Vortech supercharged looking to get more power with reliability (It’s my daily and wouldn’t have it any other way). It’s currently running 445HP to the wheels with 389lbs of TQ.

I know I’ll have to forged my internals no doubt and want to stroke it eitherto a 5.0 or 5.2 liter. I know I'll need duel GTfuel pumps to run more fuel as well.

It there anything else I should need?

My dilemma is that should I just buy a short block or just buy forged internals + stroker kit.

I'm looking to spend about 8-10 grand total with labor.

Hopefully get 550hp to 600hp to the wheels.

Any engine building knowledge experience will help!

Thanks guys.

i would just do the interals...no need for a new block. internals will be around 2200 and install will be around the same so i dont think you'll need to spend over 5-6grand

eagle makes a nice kitwith arias pistons and H beam rods. I have ran there 512 stroker kit on a 1000 plus hp engine and never had any problems. I am ordering the kit myself soon, just trying to decide on whether to stay with stock comp, and run a procharger or bump the compression and run nitrous. other than the stroker kit you should only need gaskets and fluids Dex is real close on the price, but if you have the extra coin get a set of worked heads as well.

I'm gonna do the same thing this fall. You could easily just put in forged internals & stroke your own block or get another block or a used engine from a wrecked vehicle. I am debating what to do myself. Livernois will build one for you but they charge $1000 for a block. If you get a complete used motor you can rebuild it and have the headwork done also, and still be able to drive your car in the process. I don't want my car down for any length of time, so being able to switch the entire engine looks like my best option. I'm pretty sure I can get a used motor for under $1500. I'm also sure I can change out the motor in one day.
