Default Headers on S197

So im not sure if i posted this earlier.. i couldnt find it so im guessing something didnt go through

anyways, i was wondering the different between/quality of different headers. such as JBA, steeda, bbk, all those, they all seem to vary in price. from like 300 to like 900. I know JBA are cali emission legal, but that doesnt really matter to me because my car is registered in texas. but i do live in CA.

i plan on having them installed, since its kinda a b****, so if i can save money on a decent set then i will

thanks guys
Matt

Headers:

Shorty style headers are basically what you have stockon your car already. Any aftermarket shorty is only going to net you about 2-5 hp. Not worth the effort and money IMO. Your putting 70% of the labor for 25% of the gain of L/Ts

Longtube headers will net you better gains, 17-21 hp NONE are emissions legal since you move the cats from there factory location but if you get a catted version you should pass a sniff check.A good set will cost you 1200-1400 bucksfor the headers and mid-pipe, depending on whether or nor you get a catted or O/R mid pipe.

I'll buy L/Tswhen I know if I'll be spraying or blown for sureand prices drop a little. $1400 plus about 5 hours labor is a lot of loot for 20 something hp.

REALLY!! MaybeC.A.R.B has changed their requierments since I checked last. I evenremember seeing JBA list their L/Ts as O/R only.

You actually got me thinking so I went out and popped the hood just to be sure. The driver's side header has a welded plate on it with the CARB# embossed.
