Do Ceramic pads kill the rotors?

Do Ceramic pads kill the rotors?
I just finished installing Ceramic pads, and new OEM rotors. My uncle (who is a doctor) said that my ceramic pad would damage my rotors, I was thinking the oposite. What is the truth , what is the science dehind it? ummm...

RE: Do Ceramic pads kill the rotors?
The ceramic pads were developed to lessen the amount of brake dust, ie squeeks. The downside to them is that they produce a greater amount of heat than semi metallicwhich if braking hard could warpyourrotors.

Pretty much said it. The better the sopping ability the more heat created. The force generated to stop a 3800 lb car has to be transferred to the break system somehow. That would be Heat. and if you stop and don't cool down your rotors after hard breaking.
Ta-Dah, warped rotor. Not a big mystery. After stopping, wait a few min. and rotate the tire 33 degrees. and then again. Orrrrrr. drive around for a few min and use the breaks sparingly. Let the system cool down.

Man....So just to be technical .. I just got.. F===T .. I am sure that I was better off with Whacks HP, since I am going to mess up my new rotors anyways... so my uncle was right... man... I hate when hes right...., What should I do

Your uncle wasn't necessarily right. any time you generate more heat in your rotor and not let the heat get away you will warp your rotor. If you break hard with ceramic rotors , you have to drive easy for a few min to let the system cool down, If you break hard with a stock system you have to do the same thing, or have warped rotors. The whole thing depends on what temp outside and if its wet or not etc. Ceramic pads will let you break harder, but breaking harder makes more heat, and if you don't do something with that heat, Warped rotors.

I was gonna say kinda the same thing... Don't break harder than you have to. And don't drive in a way that necessitates that you have to break harder. It's nice to know you can though.
