Default Purchasing 07 GT

Hi, I am new to the Mustang forums and was just wondering on the prices of the 07 GT's. I built my own online and it came out to $33k FULLY LOADED. I was wondering if you take this to the dealers would it be possible for them to lower the price or is it firm?

* Also, can you put the Shaker 1000 with the indash GPS system? (you cannot do it online)

Every deal is different--you are best off to go to the dealer and start working it out there. The 08s are starting to arrive at dealers too, so there should be some pretty decent deals starting to appear on 07 models

IMO dont get the shaker 1000. Waste of money if you're into sound. I've heard a lot of people say its nice, but not worth the what... 1300$ ontop of your car total? Just get the shaker 500 and an aftermarket navigation unit and you'll save tons of money, with an end result thats better than stock. I purchased my 2007 GT black on black, Interior upgrade package, no sound system at all for 25,500..... So from mine to yours technically I now have 7,500 to 8,000 dollars I could spend on a sound system, when they only cost anywhere from 200-1000$+ and a navigation system 1k-2k.... JMO I wouldnt do factory options like that, they tend to be a ripoff.

Fastlane I understand what your saving about the speakers and GPS.. yes they are expensive and will probably back off from the 1000 now and get the 500. But I like the look of the in-dash GPS system that im willing to spend extra for it [&:].

Don't know where you are, but in New England there are only a handful of 07's left. I gave up looking, and then by chance came across my white 07 GT convertible. Dealer gave me $3,700.00 off, including rebate, without even asking. 2-other dealers wanted sticker.

Despite what you hear, larger dealers will always give you a bigger price break. I got my wife's Dodge Magnum for over$7,000 off, by the dealer packaging factory and advertisingincentives. Again, without even aksing.

Good Luck! You'lllove your Mustang!

go get the latest magazine with 2007 model car prices and, more importantly, the invoice prices. They also may have the invoice for options, which would really help you out. Once you know what they paid, work up from there to what you think is a fair markup for a car that they NEED to sell.
I have a feeling you wont find the Navigation unit in your preferred color, transmission choice, as the dealers are still afraid of ordering cars with those expensive options.
But FL might be good for number of cars out there.

I found this:
http://autos.aol.com/ford-mustang-2008:9311-overview
select Options and go through steps and they show invoice price for the options.
Can you believe the invoice on the Nav is $1736! Retail is $2k! but at least it's less likely to be stolen than an aftermarket one

I live within 100 miles of Houston and when I bought my car two weeks ago there were plenty of GTs on the lots. I paid 22,616 including 1500 cash back and before TTL (for a total of 24,318 drive out) on my 07 GT "stripper" - man. trans and no options - just a basic Deluxe - which is exactly what I wanted. I was able to get the car for less than xplan (which I had going into the deal but neglected to tell the salesman.)

Xplan pricing (which is slightly less than invoice) is a good place to start negotiations as this time of year dealers want to clear the lots. Here's basic xplan pricing in my area and mind you these numbers are for models w/ no options and don't include destination and TTL or incentives :

GT coupe deluxe : 24116
GT coupe premium : 25173

Using the link provided by Orion_240 for options should give you some idea of invoice on the car you want going into the deal. Always ask to see the invoice price on the car you're considering and work from there, never MSRP.

Also, check to see if you are eligible for the x-plan for the company you work for. With that and the rebates, you can get an extremely great deal.

It's occurred to me that if Ford doesn't sell cars with fixed prices, then what's the point of even having a sticker price on any car???
I'm used to paying things based on the price it says, so getting out of that mind frame can be difficult.
I guess I gotta be like those middle easterners who haggle over the price of EVERYTHING!
