What do you think about the Mustang power upgrade package (90mm CAI and muffler kit) offered from Ford Racing? $950.
I know most people will say there are better systems out there, but does installing them void the factory warranty?

I've read that the Ford CAI is basically a Steeda unit, I may be wrong though.

As far as voiding the factory warranty, check with your dealer, it's very subjective depending on how cool your dealer is with stuff like that. Legally speaking, it doesn't - they'd have to prove that the mod directly caused the warranty work. But stealers can be a-holes (BIG suprise there).

+1 the ford stuff is usually if not always the most expensive, esp. when you consider they usu. buy it from someone else, like steeda, and just put their name on it and mark it up...consider brenspeed or bama for a good tuner/CAI combo...

according to Ford Racing Parts page there is a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty if the package is installed by the dealer at the time of sale and a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty if installed by the dealer after the sale of the vehicle. So if you're worried about warranty work this may be the way to go.

I'm not worried about the warranty on the CAI, I'm worried about the powertrain warrenty on the car if aftermarket parts are used.

good point! It says "Now with Warranty when Ford Dealer installed".
I wonder if that means it has its OWN warranty?
Or if it's included in the car's warranty...

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not supporting FORD MODS.
While their mods aren't the greatest or cheapest. Some ppl might consider a CAI, tune, gears, suspension, etc.., from FORD.
You mightgive up a "little less" HP, and the "big names", but, you have the FORDwarranty.
Based on what I've heard and experienced, FORD stands behind their aftermarket, dealer installed parts.
Just something to consider, because not all after market CAI's and tunes are perfect, that's why you get 2-3 tunes to load and try, and sometimes, they aren't right.
