Installed my Hurst shifter
ORIGINAL: D_Gusler
I found the easiest way of getting the old shifter out & installing the new was to drop the driveshaft(front half) at least. This gives you a ton of room to work with.
To those who installed the Hurst---did you all remove the black dust boot off of the old shifter & install it on the hurst??

I agree with this I had no problem getting the old one out, but after 45 min of trying to get the new one in I dropped the front half of the drive shaft. I kicked my self for not doing it earlier.
I did use the dust boot.
I put my Hurst shifter in - piece of cake. Just used some floor jacks and another person underneath to guide it in and bolt it up.
The longest part of the process was drinking my beer.
Anyone want to give me a cookie?
