Last minute questions on Steeda UDP install
Leave engine in gear, certain gear?
Do I really need a gear puller to remove?
Use Steeda's install-bolt method?
Confusion discussed on crank bolt's torque, anyone know true number?
Any extra tips?
Has anyone on here ef'd their engine up from UDP install?
I'll be using Tacobill's as a guide but any help is appreciated.

RE: Last minute questions on Steeda UDP install
use the torque-to-yield technique for the crank pulley...
use blue threadlocker on the water pump pulley bolts...
using the incorrect puller can damage the crank hub threads...
this is why I had someone do mine (wussy!)...

RE: Last minute questions on Steeda UDP install
A lot of auto parts chain stores (Autozone, Pep Boys, etc) will lend you the tools you need. The puller you need is the one for Chryslers not Ford. It has three claws. I recommend using a rubberband to tie the claws of the puller together. Also, don't use the crank bolt to install the crankshaft, for better results, use a crank alignment tool. (see my write up for part numbers )
I chose not to remove the fan, radiator overflowand PS fluid reservoir. It saved a lot of time, but I did have to get a shorter impact gun from sears. I'vedone this job about 5 times thus far and this saves an awful lot of time. I can do the entire job in about 2-3 hours now (taking my time)
When you are ready to install the crankshaft, boil it for a few minutes first. It will expand and make it easier to install.
When you reinstall everything, make sure the alternator bolt is either replaced with a shorter one of that you grind it down. I missed that step and it tore my belt to shreds. Finally, make sure you reconnect the MAF connections. I forgot to do that on the third install I did and it threw an engine code.
Howarmatallready posted a link to my write up(http://www.cherod.com/mustang/HowTo/Pulleys.htm ), I documented all the problems I ran into so that you wouldn't have the same problem.

RE: Last minute questions on Steeda UDP install
Ok guys got 2 questions...
Steeda's stuff does not come with new pulley bolt... It says old one can be used twice (this would be the second). Is this true?
Also, do I truly need a harmonic puller to take the pulley off? I won't have time to rent one until the weekend.... If you say its a necessity then I won't even attempt any of this.
Thanks ya'll.

I don't see how you will get it off without the puller. Even with the puller it's a bit hard. I would put it off untill you can get the right tools. Having the right tools makes all the difference in the world.
