Any ideas on how much slower the auto GT is to 60? I know it usually adds 1/2 to3/4 sec but the vette times are almost always the same for stick/auto.

Muscle Mustangs got a 14.09 out of an Auto on a crapy track and 90 degree day. They only got 3 passes. PHP got 13.90 out of a stick and he can drive the hell out of a stick. I think in stock form an auto will 60 foot better than a stick and it only weighs 50 lbs more. The Auto just suffers from more HP loss through the drive train. The Auto also hs less RPM drop from first to second which keeps the engine higher in the power band. Both are 1.00 in fourth. Hope this helps.

neither car is slow. They are pretty close. That sounds about right.

Motor Trend ran the auto 0-60 in 5.1 and the 1/4 in 13.6, the stick I saw ran 13.4, these are magazine times though so who knows how true they are. Motor Trend also said the auto dynoed 267hp and 272tq stock.

My brother sells Fords, and the specs he has from Ford say they get the same from either auto or manual. So, even if that's not totally true, then it's close enough based that info and on the other testing by magazines.

Also you have to realize the different drivers will get diff. results. I race both auto and manual cars,mainly my auto cars are faster. Just because the auto is fool proof,dosnt mean it wont perform as well as or better than a manual.the things with manuals is that they are lighter and they spin more freely,but where they lack is in the shifts,because they spin more freely.Where as in auto trannys things are "tighter" so to speak and under more pressure,so where they shine is in the shifts! Its all a game of give or take!

I don't know but my opinion is buying an auto trans is like castrating yourself in order to prevent getting the clap!!

The same way it feels when you miss a shift huh? One ride in my Auto and you would have respect for a good one. The 05 auto is not the same your used to.

I have test driven the GTs,both stick and auto, as well as the Saleen's (stick) and think the auto is pretty comparable. I think a lot of cars demonstrate a large difference b/w the two, but I don't see it in the stock GTs, even versus the Saleen s281.
