ive had my intake on for a couple of months now and i dont know if its just me but it seems like the intake isnt on well enough.. i didnt use the heat shield because its ugly and doesn't sit right anyway, but if i give the air tube a jerk or move it hard at all it moves a little.. is everyone elses like this? i tighten the clamps all the way and everything but around the throttle body it doesnt seem to be on there as tight as it should be..

I don't know which version you have, but the racer does not come with a bracket to hold the inlet tube. I believe the heat shroud also acts as a support for the racer version. Y ou may want to put it on and see if it helps your problem.

You get more of a benefit with the heat shroud in place - you're not sucking up that hot engine bay air. I'd put it on.

i dont have the racer intake. i had it on.. it doesn't sit still.. it sits uncomfortably on some wires(brake lines?) and yes the heat shield holds the intake up from gravity, but the intake can still slip around under the clamps even though the clamps are as tight as can be.. i dont think its a huge problem its not falling off or anything just wondering if anyone elses inlet tube can kind of rotate where the clamps are near the throttle body

no wonder it feels loose, you left a part out.

use the heat shield. wriggle it around till it fits right. then see if it still feels loose.

Hate to sound like an ***, but how is someone who can't tell the difference between brake lines and wires running over 900 rwhp?

The heat sheild might feel a little loose w/ the hood up, but when you close the hood on it that tends to "clamp down" on the cai / heat sheild and keeps everything still. The Ford Racing CAI works that way, I noticed...

I will say my K&N fit better than my C&L does. I also thought it was a crock that I had to use zip ties to attach the heat shield for my $300 intake
where my $200 one came with nice hardware.
