First Oil Change

Default First Oil Change

My car has just under 3000 miles on it and this will be the first oil change. First question is how many quarts does an 07 GT need?
I read some previous posts about this and am still unsure, should I go full synthetic or a synthetic blend? I already bought mobil 1 so I will probably use it, but just want to get some more opinions.

Mobil 1 full synth and K&N filters. All I use. 6.5 quarts according to autozone's computer, but everyone gets by with just 6.

Go with full synthetic, 6 quarts.

I went with Mobil 1 after my first oil change at 1000 miles.

Do not waste your money on Fram filters, known for having filter media come apart inside casing

Motorcraft, K&N, Wix, Purolator Gold all make very good filters.

one weird thing about these cars...yeah they take six quarts, but if you look at the owner's manual, the full level on the dipstick is down in the bottom area of the hashmarks, not at the top where every other vehicle on the planet's is...when I first got my mustang and checked all the fluid levels, I thought they didn't top it off during the PDI cause it was only halfway up the hashes...
other than that, use mobil one and mobil one filter, do it yourself in the driveway, get it really hot first for a good drain, and fill the filter about halfway up with oil (the angle is too great to fill it up any more than that)...

I am really suprised to see all the fram users. Cut one open and compare vs Wix, Purolator, Motorcraft, K&N you will never use a fram again. Back in the day when I sold parts I converted lots of customers to Wix like this.
