About 9 years ago I smashed up my baby. It was an 85 capri RS with t-tops, 5.0, reworked to about 430 HP, with 410's ,a full chromolly cage installed by me (because thats what I do). It was a monster, oh and yes it was carbed It looked mean, sounded mean and with my "heartbeat stops here" on my windsheild I got plenty of those heavy chevys to bite...but to their dismay I dont think they knew what hit them ......but alot has changed in 9 years, back then 400+ horse on the street was really fast, its still fast today but with all the new stangs coming out with superchargers 400 HP is almost common place. So I wrecked my stang, im almost 36 now so I grew up a bit I have been driving to work for the last 7 years in a beat the hell up pick up truck, raising my family,my wife and I have 4 kids, bills , mortgage..........ya know the routine....so anywaysim always driving to workpissed off everytime I saw an import with a fart cannon sticking out of its @ss telling myself "one day...one day ill be back in the game" My truck has been falling apart and wasnt gonna make it to next inspection without alot of money, so my wife says to me........"babe, you deserve a new car.....go get what you want " (thinking to myself that shes crazy) I say ok...(testing her) I say "man those new mustangs are hot arent they ?' She says yes they are, you should get one. (I almost couldnt contain myself) I calmly said "ok"with this ??????? look on my face thinking I am in the twilight zone......She meant it, not that i needed her permission but when your married and you dont see eye to eye, life can get really bad...But when you agree your life can be SWEET.....

I got my baby back....picked it up last week.

Gotta love understanding wives. My wife basically told me the same thing...never gave her a chance to change her mind or realize the grave error she had just made.

 

Man We're really lucky, I have a similar story. I had a '66 mustang convertible with 40K original miles on it. When my son was born, I pnanicked and sold all my toys because I thought it was the responsible thing to do. When the '05s came out, my wife said, 'honey, you've wanted a mustang for the past 18 years and you've been very patient. I don't want you to deny yourself any longer and go get the car you want." This time I listened and I ran out to place my order. I'm like a kid again. I love my car and it's even better because I get to share it with my sone and daughter.

We're really lucky to have such loving and understanding wives.

I know that I was looking at a 03 Mach 1 when I picked mine up----you'd be amazed at how much happier my fiance is with the 05 vs the older model, says she just hates the olders.


Buuuut at the same time, I absolutely love this car, even 10x more since the tune/intake combo increasing the overall throttle response & power.
