Whats up everyone. My friend is telling me to get a 03 Mach 1 instead of the 05 GT I have ordered. I know the Mach 1 has 5 hp more than the 05 GT, and will be rarer car. In the area we live there are Mach 1s going for $18,000-$20,000 (with 5000-18000 miles). So 5 more HP for roughly $8-10,000 less than the 05.
I have seen them, but never driven one. How do they handle compared to the '05? Anyone have any opinions? Let me here them. Thanks.

i say go with the mach. i like the body style of the mach more and its rarer and its faster on top of that!!!!

I drove both, the mach 1 and the 05 GT. The power feels about the same, but i have heard the mach 1's being a bit faster stock. The big difference i felt was in the ride of the cars. I think the 05 is alot smoother. I like them both, but i went with the 05.

personally I'd hop in a 05. The mach is a badass car though. I am still pissed I didn't buy one instead of a GT then this past summer the *** at the ford dealership wouldn't come down $500 or I would have bought a red 04 mach 1

The mach 1 is such a great ride-- I'd take one over an 05 ANY day of the week. Plus, the mach is a lot more rare, like you said... and pretty soon everyone and their mom over 50 is going to be driving an 05.

If you go with an auto I'd say go with the '05, if it is 5 speed than go with the Mach. I went with the '05 just because it was an entirely different design. I have had an '03 drop gt and an '04 coupe gt so I kinda wanted something that looked completely different. I also went with the auto so I wanted the 5 speed auto and not the 4 like I have now.

Go for the Mach1 if you want performance. 4valve owns 3v SOHC.

I have a friend that has owned an 04 Auto Mach I for a year and he drove my 05 Auto when it was stock with only 200 miles on it and was blown away. He said it shifted like a Pro Stock. He said he could not believe how hard it pulled. This is coming from a guy who owns a 9.20 second 1969 Mach I with a 514 ci BB. I think the 3valve is putting out a lot of HP considering the conservative tune in stock form.

My friend drives a Mach 1 and he likes/envious of my 05 GT.
I can drive around corners without worrying much, so there's a big difference in stability than the Mach 1. (Same with the interior, I love the cockpit feel and more room in mine)
But if you think about it, its the same basic engine in the Mach 1 as the new GT ("basically").

But I agree completely, everyone is trying to get a 05 Mustang now.

So it all depends what you're looking for and what you're going to do to it once you have it. An '04 Mach 1 is more rare and cheaper right now.
