Shaker 1000/500 Skips Any Fix?

My 1000 does the same thing. It will read bad cd sometimes; other times it will skip and sometimes replay a portion of the song. This happens with bought and burned cd's. I guess I will contact my dealer.

Now when all you folks say "SKIP" do you mean every few seconds, every few mintues, every few songs or every few CD's? I know that I have had a skip or two on just about every MP3 cd's I've played. (I burn folder of songs). No problems with Audio CD's yet.
Verbatim is supposed to use some special technology/materials with thier media. So I use Verbatim media. That's what most of the Xbox forums mention to use. I mention this because anyone with a Mod'ed xbox knows how picky those damned DVD drives are when trying to play burned CD-RW's or DVD's.
I have a shaker 1000.

I just notified my service writer about the ongoing problem and she was real helpful. As soon as she has some info she will call me. She also said they are having the same problem with the Focus. Sounds like they need to find a new vendor. I will post back when I have new info. Thanks everybody.

My Shaker 1000 skips intermittently with new CD’s as well as MP3 files. I took my car (05 GT) into the dealer today and waited 3 hours while they replaced the radio. The dealer admitted that there is a known problem with these radios. When I got back in my car after the radio had been replaced, it started skipping in the first track before I even pulled out of the parking lot… They were surprised and told me that this was the “new version of the radio and shouldn’t be skipping”. They have scheduled another appointment for me to get the radio replaced for a second time this Thursday...
