Transmission/car debate

RE: Transmission/car debate
Man, you're lucky to have those choices for your first car. Personally, I like the looks of the GT500 better but the power in that Saleen is more appealing. If you really want the GT500 and want to learn stick, I think you can afford to teach yourself/learn on the GT500. It's not THAT HARD. If you/your parents can afford to buy either one of those cars, I think you/they can afford to replace the transmission/clutch if you screw them up

Are we taking this serious? A GT500 for a first car for a 16 year old? You do know they are 45K+dealer mark up. If you can afford one of those two then you can hire someone to teach you.[sm=bs.gif]

RE: Transmission/car debate
okay, screw the trans debate...I want to know how you're picking up a high-dollar car at your age...are your parents rich, do you have a trust/inheritance that just matured, what...
...and I can't think of a single good reason to drop a 500hp car in a young kid's lap...yeah I was pissed when my parents didn't get me a mustang when I was a kid, but maybe it's for the best that they didn't; I lived long enough to work hard and earn my own...maybe your parents are doing this because they want you to have the life they wanted as teenagers...but even a basic GT is dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced driver (especially a male...insurance quotes don't lie)...maybe it's easier for your parents to give you everything you ask for and avoid conflict, than to teach you patience and the value of hard work? If so you're in for a miserable adulthood...what do you have to look forward to if you've already been handed everything, just for asking for it?
...p.s. nothing personal against you, this post is probably the result of me not getting my 5.0 when I was sixteen...I guess I'll never get over it?

Also be careful,500hp + Shelby = alot of car, just dont do any stupid stuff. Just because you have a fast car, doesnt mean you have the driver mod installed quite yet. I have 2 yrs under my belt, still not a good driver by stretch of the imagination. Take it slow

RE: Transmission/car debate
Actually I turn 21 next month lol, and in return for getting this saleen or GT500 I have to get my CDL in about a month and work for my brother's trucking business for an amount of time. I'm slowly edging twards the automatic saleen given I'm lacking interest in burnouts, getting te jump or all that kinda stuff. Also I orignally had my mind on a regular GT/CS, my mom, brother etc came up with the proposition heh.
