RE: 06 Pony Package Tape Strip Question
So he just ripped it off?
Just a nice wash to even everything off after I guess, then?
A few people I know keep telling me that it will either ruin the paint or you will be able to see marks where it was. If anyone knows they are wrong, i would be sooooo happy. I friggin hate that stripe. My entire car is black as night except for the stupid stripe.

Yep...he removed it, washed and gave it a goodwaxing and now can't even tell there was ever a stripe. Of course he did this immediately after purchasing the car approx a year ago.

I like it.
You should not have problems unless your paint is in poor condition (swirl marks).. if it is.. it will be a deeper black where the stripes were.
Plus.. you could always get new one's if it's really bad.

RE: 06 Pony Package Tape Strip Question
Do this...
Sit your car facing the sun for a few hours on a hot afternoon and let the stripe heat up. After that time passes it should peel right off. But the longer you leave it the harder it'll be to take off. Then repeat this process on the other side. If it's not hot enough outside you can use a heat gun to heat thestripe and thenpull it off. It's not that difficult. Any residue that remains on there can be removed with Goo Gone.

+1^^^
It took awhile for you to get a truthful response!
You have to use a hair drier to heat up the tape.
Are you talking about the SIDE stripes? If so, there should be no real difference in color with only a year old car. If you mean racing stripes (over the hood and roof) it's possible, if you park in the sun all the time.
