Default Sudden Engine Shudder on 07

I have about 7k miles on my 07 stang. today on the way to work I was driving along in 2nd at about 25 mph getting ready to shift to 3rd. All of a sudden the whole car began to shudder, it seemed to be coming from the engine. It sounded fairly crappy too, but nothing I could really decipher.

I thought it was my imagination and kept going, shifted to 3rd with no problem and stopped at a red light. Looked at my shift **** and it was shaking like crazy (neutral now)

light turned green and I shifted to first and pulled over as soon as I could. turned the engine off, restarted again after about a minute and the shudder was gone.

It was almost like the shudder right before the engine stalls if you haven't given it enough gas before shifting -- but I was nowhere near stalling, the RPMs were steady at about 750 while I idled at the red light.

There were no other warning lights going off, nothing

anyone have this happen? should I take it in and have the mechanic say something like "well I can't reproduce it so it must be fine"? -- AKA "you imagined it"

Check to make sure all of your plug wires are tight on both ends.

I'm wondering if this has to do with the documented cam phasers problem...

I too experienced in my 05 where I srtarted getting a loud bang from the lower engine or tranny area.... Metal clanging on metal. It went away with gas but in idle it banged. Turned off car and restarted and its almost like something 'reseated' itself because it never happened again.

Not sure what to tell you....

I'll check out all the wires, and I don't have any mods so it can't hurt to stop by the ford service center just to be sure..

could it just be bad gas or something? I went to a cheap gas station the other day...

Your car is stock, take advantage of it and take it to Ford. Believe me I HATE letting those monkeys touch my car, I bet they eat it in and take naps in the back. But... you might as well take advantage of the warranty for what could be a major problem.
