Hooking up is really the biggest factor at the track, you can have all the hp in the world but you gotta be able to put it to the ground. Sticky tires and suspension. Also shaving some weight might help a bit.

As for times, I've run a 14.1(on a 2.2 60ft) and then a 13.8(on a 2.0 60ft) at 100mph each time. I expect better times next time around(Dec this year) because of cooler weather and more experience.

My first pass was my best that night with a 13.9, which disappointed me a lot. Ran a 1/8 track in Mobile and did better with a 8.36 and a change in tune. Came back to Baytown when the track had just dried out (supposedly) last Friday and with really high humidity ran a 13.8 wtih 1/8 times worse than when I was in Mobile a week earlier. This was before the catted X pipe. I've got the UDPs at the house and next on the list is LCAs and sticky tires. This is all with an auto and 3.31 gears and stock tires.

You go on a night when the track is dry you should run mid to high13's.

13.69 bone stock on stock tires, but I've been drag racing since I was 16.

I'd love to see some of these time slips. I can't figure out how you guys are running 13.4 stocketc. I know I have 19's and those hurt a little but not half a second. I had my best time last week. It was 13.914 at 102. I had a great launch for 19's, no bog and very little tire spin. I usually average about 14.1. I am planning on MT ET streets soon and 4.10's next spring. Then I would expect 13.4.

Back on the subject, my very first run was 14.1 at 101. I had a passenger (14 year old), full tank of gas, trunk full of luggage and tires inflated to 35. This was my very first pass down a dragstrip, ever.

If the rain stops, I'l be back tonight hopefully getting back to the finals in street legal again!!

1st time ever at a 1/4 mile dragstrip in my life (and i'm40 yrs old) was last october in my '05 GT

track wasvery cold (air temp low 40s)

nitto 555s don't like cold temps

i spun 1st, 2nd and 3rd(!) on both passes

traction appeared to be fine for everybody else

i ran 15s

i'd like to think it was the cold track/cold tires, but maybe i just can't drive for crap.
