Default shelby hood question

hey all.

I have an interest in getting aheat extracting hood. Of the different ones, I like the Shelby GT500 the best.

Can anyone tell me if it would fit the GT's grill in the front with no problem-o?

thanks.

No the GT500 hood will not fit with the stock fascia. It's not the gap that is the problem (it would be very hard to notice)....it's the fact the the GT fascia will interfere with the hood as it closes.

However, the GT500 fascia DOES work with the stock hood.

Default RE: shelby hood question

I'll look, but I think I found my hood.

Here is my situation, I dented up my front end within a week of "playing" about a year ago. Had to body shop the car for just cosmetic problems... No mechanical, so thank heavens...

Anyway, my hood has been back 3x to the shop for bad buff/haze et cetera. I wanted a different hood, so I thought, well, since it has to go back again, perhaps the shop will cut me a deal on the install/paint. They are great with help, but I dont know what kind of price to expect.

Either way, I want a heat extraction hood that will allow enough room to FI down the road. I was going through Cervini's last night.

Has anyone seen the KR hood they are offering? Full functional Ram Air (with add on) and also heat extraction. I emailed info@ last nite and they got back to me asap.

Hood is 559/ship is 125... seriously thinking about it.

Help questions are: fiberglass hood - is that all good, they claim no pins needed, but is that a danger zone to get into? how bout Cervinis in general - the quality and such? Also, I am in AZ and I was told that the paint/clear will start to chip on the fiberglass surface due to the extreme sun and dryness.

thanks all for any help.

Im not a fan of fiberglass hoods, but thats just me. I like the fit and finish of oem parts, that is why Im going w/ GT500 hood but I have the facia already which is a big +. All I have to say is, take your time and make sure you are making the right decision, because it is a hefty price if you are not completely satisfied with it. Maybe you could do th facia and the hood since you are going in for paint.

I have the Cervini's Ram Air Hood and the quality is phenomenal, my only complaint is the hood itself is MUCH heavier than the stock aluminum hood. I know you might say, "Fiberglass heavier than aluminum?!" But alas it is true....
