Lose Shift Knob
^^^ um, I'd advise against eitherof those, just in case you ever have to get the **** off...use the blue medium-strength threadlocker...it's a good locker but will break loose if you apply enough elbow grease...
In my experience, the entire shaft -- not simply the **** -- turns. I tried to replace the **** with a hurst **** and thought it was very basic too, but then the entire shaft started to unscrew. I was able to screw it back in place and get it aligned, but without the new ****.

Neither JB or LockTite bonds to plastic so removal is simple
but it adds just that right amount to get it tight. The shifter is
bottoming in the OEM **** when it gets tight. Fill that with
some JB and tighten until its just about right and let it harden.
Then turn it the last little bit so everything is straight and tight.
