do you remember, I was the frenchy introduced some weeks ago (https://mustangforums.com/m_3382867/...tm.htm#3382867)

I am currently in CA, Palo Alto more precisely, and I just reserved my aparment for the beginning of my Visa, at the end of September. I can now get all advices and opinion from the community regarding my future buying if a mustang, v6 or GT, I don't know now !

I saw the ford reseller on Stevens Creek Bld, what do you think about it ? I found also several resellers of used cars in El Camino, but perhaps it is better to buy directly my used one at Ford... what's your experience ?

The choice between the v6 and v8 will be done by the insurance price at first [&:]
I'm waiting for all advices and opinion, don't hesitate to post !

Get the insruance price first....I wouldn hesitate to buy either of them but if you are looking for power go for the GT....

Welcome Lionel. Check out the insurance, get the GT if you possibly can afford it, and keep in mind that unless you have alot of cash, you are probably going to find it easier to finance a new car than a used car, that's just the way it is. You can probably get a good price on a '07 right now since the '08sare hitting the lots.If youfind one you like, and you need some negociation advice, we are glad to hardball with you! Good luck.

You are talking about a new one, but I will loss lot of money when I will sell it to buy another one...

I hesitate also between the mustang and the corvette, a C5 model...

^^^ if you get a C5 get a service contract...they are VERY expensive to maintain out of warranty!

Is the mustang GT 2005 and above are expensive to maintain ? what about the reliability ?

And do you know a good place to buy car in northern california, bay area ?

I've only had mine for two months...but the Mustang is about the only American car that Consumer Reports actually recommends (usually they bash all the domestics and praise all the japanese cars)...I guess what I should have said is, ALL cars are expensive to maintain out of warranty, what with all the advancements in safety, emissions, etc., so even with Ford's 5 year/60K powertrain warranty, keep some cash aside for a service contract after the 3/36 is up.

I owned several japanese cars in France and their reliability is true, the jap'sports car are really amazing, but now I am in California, and I want to try american muscle car, which is really expensive and nearly impossible.

But I want to minimize the risk of bad surprises, that's why I need SEVERAL advices and address to buy one !

I went to StateFarm yesterday and they propose me $120 per month for a complete insurance for the Mustang GT convertible from 2005... what do you think of this price ?

I will live in Sunnyvale, CAlifornia...
