I would get underdrive pullys then . At least you can afford them. Buying a CAI/with out a tune to me would suck. And don't buy the Kn-N filter either. That's a waste of money.

Have you had a CAI without a tune? I have and it was well worth it.

No I had a regular K-N Filter that cost 50 bucks and to me that was a waste. But if your happy that is all that matters. I know a guy at work that just bought a six cylinder and he loves it and saids that's all he needs.

I have a Granatelli... no experience with K@N just what I've heard which was that its not very good. The Granatelli gave me a big boost in power and exhaust sound. I was happy with it for a while then I wanted more and got the tune.

well i just installed an S&B cai in mine, were i got it i was going to get the tunner but i did not have enough to get both. ***** at MAK performance to me that this intake would net a HP improvement over stock without a tune he told me to instal it and see. well is on and hes right i did notice a diffrence quicker throttle responce and the car pulls a little harder im going back next week for the tunner and an off road X pipe

I have an Airaid CAI without a tune, and there is enough of a difference thatit was aworthwhile install. There is an insert you installinside the intake tube if you are not going with a tune, butmust be removed if you decide to go with a tune.

Get the MAX out of your mods by getting a tune, after you do a good break in of the car. Wait 1000 miles and then do it.

I've read that there was only one CAI that didn't require a tune, but that it couldn't be used on an Automatic.
Can't remember which one that was. Personally, I would go with one of brenspeed's packages, after hearing so many recommendations.

And if someone where to just slap on any CAI and run lean, how could he tell? Would there be knocking at WOT? Or would the only way to tell be if a code flashed, or CEL?

Whatever you read was wrong. There are 2 or 3, I think, that can be used without a tune. My Granatelli CAI can, and my car is an automatic. It ran great for 7 or 8 months without a problem. Now I have a tune so it is upgradable.

He did say he wanted one that didn't need a tune and that is available despite what some people have said.
