Default CAI without tune?

I'm thinking of installing CAI and Exhaust without a tune...am I nuts? Reason being I don't want to change any of the tune settings yet.....my car only has 40 miles on it.

I installed the K&N Typhoon kit. I did not want or expect neckbreaking power, just a little something extra. So far, im happy with it. Makes a nice difference and no tune required.

Thats what I did when mine was new. I installed a Granatelli CAI without a tune and it was a huge improvement. But as you can see by my sig I have moved on and added a few more performance mods. It's so much more fun to drive now. Take your time, but you will eventially lose control and be overcome by the mod bug.

To the best of my knowledge you NEED a tune for all CAI's except the K&N one. For example, if you use the steeda one without adding a tune to it, your car will act funny at WOT and at higher RPM's. Most likely the check engine light will come on.

Well, it depends on if you want itjust to be able to say you have it, or if you want it to make much of a difference. You need a tune to get max benefit.

I guess what one of you guys is saying, "If you are gonna do it later, do it now." Then my question is????Do I have to have a certain amount of miles on the car, or can I add the CAI and tune now? (40 miles on it)

I'd put on 1000 at least, to break it in. Then go for it.

Buy a supercharger that's where I should have started but I couldn't afford it. So save your money for three years and you will be right , that is if you can wait that long.

Think I'll pass on the supercharger. This is my daily driver.
