Default jacking up car gone wrong

Well so yesterday i lifted up the car in order to get the old shifter out and put in my new MGW shifter with a hurst ball. The shifter install went very smoothly and it works like a champ. Anyways while i was under there i took a look at the oil pan and noticed it had a pretty good dent in it. Diameter was about 3 inches depth was about 1 inch and it was in the shape of a circle. I'm guessing either one day i wasnt paying too much attention and jacked from the oil pan instead of the k member or somebody before me did (bought the car with 10k on the odometer) Does anybody think driving the car will hurt the engine. I mean i know there is an oil pickup line but where is it located? The dent is right behind the k member, like the jack was pushed under a little too far. So anyhelp is a appreciated im just pretty pissed now. Im glad that the replacement pan is only like 60 bucks but the stupid gasket is 30. Anybody replace an oil pan yet? Or so i just let the shop do it and have them get covered in oil. Anyways I appreciate the help and please dont flame me for denting it im pissed enough as it is.

Well, if you have good oil pressure I guess you're ok. The other thing is to check the motor mounts, it is possible you've torn one or both.
That's a pretty bad thing to happen, I don't imagine you did it without knowing, it would be pretty obvious halfway through jacking that he car wasn't lifting as much as the jackso it probably was somebody else

Unfortunatly i dont have the stock dummy oil pressure gauge or an aftermarket one. So i guess the only way to tell is if i get a check engine light?

well what i ment by dummy gauge is its basically an on off switch showing pressure or no pressure nothing in between. But then again i guess that would be nice right now to see if there is ANY pressure but im sure there must be some because it seems to be running fine

aschultz I would definitely get it looked at by a Ford dealer, depending where the oil pump pick uptube is locaded in the oil pan vs the 1'dent could be a problem.

Also guys the gauges in are cars(IUP)are not true gauges they are just open and closed circuits. they will not tell you your true watertemp or oil pressure.

If its a ford certified used car then take it to where you bought it and they will probably warrantee it.

if not, well GL with the oil pan install, let us know how it goes!

the oil pan R & R doesn't look too complicated, there
is a torque sequence for the bolts, when putting
the new pan on. here are a couple of pics for
