Guys, there is a fellow onthe Shelby GT forum who claims that, with only a Brenspeed tune, his Shelby GT now produces 345 hpat the crank (300 hp at the rear wheels). Can this be possible? [:-] Here is a link to the forum;

It could be possible since the Shelby has 15 more horse than a stock GT. But 30 HP from a tune is really pushing it.

I'd love to believe it, but a Shelby GT is 19 more hp than a standard GTbecause of a Ford Performance tune. So, w/ the Brenspeed tune you are substituting one tune for another., so I can't see how you would acheive 25 more hp on top of the 19.

Yes it's possible. A couple of dyno runs should verify it.

Well, Ford rates the Shelby GT at 320HP, and CAI and tune on a GT is usually good for around 25 HP, so....

But then again, the Shelby GT has the FRPP Power Upgrade pack whcih is good for 20HP which has the CAI and tune, and FRPP rates it at 20HP...

So is he just assuming a new tune would add 25HP? Dunno...

OP, I know what you REALLY want to hear: Well, I suppose it's possible, why don't YOU slap one on and see for yourself? Come on...I respect that your car is a special edition, etc., but you've still got to do a LITTLE modding...gas isn't THAT expensive lol...

Well, it does say it was a very aggressive tune(on 92 octane). The Shelby GT tune is pretty conservative and is tuned for 91 octane(not sure how Shelby GTs are tuned for the higher altitude areas like Colorado). 345 crank hp is bit on the high side, but remember, the Shelby GT has a catted X-pipe and axle backs(I know, I know), so I'd think 330-335hp would be a better figure, but where was the dyno test conducted? What was the weather like? Was it done on an early 55 degree morning? Many intangibles for sure, but I'm sure the car kicks *** regardless of the what hp figures are being reported...........................

I doubt it, its like saying a CaI and Tune will give you 50 hp, so ... NO imo.
