Some have suggested the WMS 80mm HV Ram Air Intake system.

I have been data logging my tune, trying to figure out why my car is having issues. so I took a good look at the JLT II setup and found a lot of flaws. so I started to address them one at a time. My MAF AI Temps are 145+ deg. with ambient Temps of 85 deg.
Have your measured your AI temps after adding the insulation to see how much it went down?

In the Process of doing that today, I want the conditions to be the same, outside Ambient Temps and same drive time.
I will post tonight

Try unbolting the rear of the hood and inserting rubber between the bracket and the bolt holes. The hood will shake a little bit while you're driving down the road, but I dropped the running temp on my old car by about 10 degrees (consistent) by doing this. The hood was only lifted by about 1/4-1/2 an inch, and it only costs you about 10$. The bolts will be a bit shorter, but you can find a set with the same profile at Autozone.

Kenne Bell says on their website that the coolest air is in the very lowest front area (passenger side) of the engine bay. They haven't answered any of my e-mails, so I'm trying to rig sensors myself to measure the temps in different areas of the engine bay. If I find low temperatures in the low right front area, I'll cobble together an air intake and let you guys know if it makes a difference.
2k05gt, what temperature sensors are you using?

@mike
no joke man, they don't exactly make alot of stuff for the old j-body cars, and hell if I was gonna spend 500+ on a new hood if i could get the same effect for that cheap.

I remember in the 70's somone made a hood hinge that did that, you open the hood, flip a lever on each hinge, close the hood and pull up on the back and it locks into place.
