Default Scratches

You guys ever notice scratches around the ignition? I noticed a few recently i didnt know the plastic there was so cheaply made, i can mark it with my finger nail when im hardly pushing on it. I guess i must have scratched it with my key or something, any suggestion on getting rid of those scratches or anyone else who has experinced this?[:@]

so you added another scratch with your finger
nail? sorry couldn't resist

yes the interior is about as cheap as it can possibly be,
without imploding under it's own weight.

Mine had a bunch from people test driving it & the dealer had a guy polish them out. Call your dealer & see if you can bring it in when their guy is there. Be careful with your cheap plastic.

Ya I have scratches on mine too. I also found scratches on the right side of my parking brake. Not sure how I managed to do that, but Ford did use very cheap plastic on the intreriors of these cars. So be careful I guess.

yes, we need to know how exactly Ford and other dealers manage to get the scratches out of the plastic!
If you've looked at any used late model Mustangs you'll see that they just don't have the scratches that you'd expect. I imagine it's part of the reconditioning process.
Please don't suggest a polish unless you can certify that they use it.
Too many times yocals will say, "I just use Mothers Mag polish!"

I've used a plastic polish with a Porter Cable DA type polisher on mine once and it removed all of the scratches. The polish I used was for plastics and called Applesauce (yes, it's made for removing the scratches on your iPod). Used it with a white pad (polishing) and it looked great. If I do it again soon, I'll post pics. takes about 10 minutes.
