Read the whole thread. He is planning to paint the engine bay black at a future date.
Buddy:
I love the car that inspired you. I think that that color will look great on a S197. I can't wait to see the final pictures.

1 step forward and then 3 steps back.
That's all I got out of Wes today. I called today to see how things were going and I guess the transformer blew up down the road and they didn't have power for 3 or 4 hours. I didn't get many details from him but he said he was lucky that he hadn't started painting when it happened.
So now the car will be sitting there with just the primer on it until he get's back from his work trip. I will be able to do a few things next week like sand and prep the spoiler, rockers and bumpers. I have made most of the arrangements to have those parts shipped to me and expect to have all of them by next Friday.
BigDave is sending me his faux gas cap so I won't get the gold ones I saw on ebay. I assume it says GT on it so I may need to modify it. I'd rather not be a complete poser. I'm just fine being a partial poser. I see they make stickers that fit in the center. Are these any good? Other suggestions on how to modify it? Also I want to get the honeycomb blackout panel so it shows the faux gas cap. I like how it looks with that setup.
Have a great weekend everyone. I'll update if there is anything new.

What makes you think you are being any kind of poser at all? Well the GT Faux gas cap might do that but you aren't looking to have it say GT. Maybe you can have it say something else on it completely since you are thinking about puting a sticker on it.
I must say, with all the work and hours you and Wes have put into this car, you can probably make a case for you loving your stang the most. You've come a long way in a short period of time and both of you have done a great job on the car. Only a select few have put as much time and love into their car as you have yours. I think poser would be the last word I would use to describe you or your car.
And heck, what are you going to name your car? There is no way that you can put that much love and time into it without giving it a name.

There are varying degrees of gold, with varying degrees of metallic, and we'll trust the Dankster to pick the right one
