Default Axelback exhaust

How well do they work performance wise and are they worth the price?

Also, from what I understand they eliminate the mufflers. I guess that would void the warranty?

My dealer saids I can't change nothing or it voids the warranty. Maybe I should talk to another dealer after all they all have to service the vehicle right?

It's really called a Cat-back exhaust.

And the dealership is 100% wrong. You can mod that baby all you want. But, if any mod you installed causes a failure and the dealership can prove it, they can refuse to do the warranty work.

No it's really called an axel back exhaust. On the 05 Mustang the muffler is behind the axel. What they give you is a Muffler that has a tail pipe on one end and a short pipe on the other end to re-connect to the exhaust. There is a cat back system but the stock Ford pipes from the cats to the mufflers are already Mandrel bent so you only gain if the manufacture can make a better cross-over pipe than Ford. Axel-back; this is a new term in exhaust for the 05's.

Ok but my question was if the exhaust in my last post is a good one or not.

JBA is a well known exhaust expert. He has also teamed up with Steeda to build some of their cars. I'm sure it would be a good product but I don't understand why the 05 exhaust cost so much. A cat back exhaust for my 87 from flowmaster has a lot more pipe in it and only cost $225.00. Why does the 05 cost almost twice that from people like Magnaflow, Steeda and Bassani? I think I will keep my stock exhaust for now. Maybe they will come down in price as more people come out with new exhaust.

mmmm... i love the loudmouths on my car. they'd probably sound swell on the 05. maybe make it sound like a v8 instead of a v6. the 05s are fast, i knokw, and performance isn't based on sound. i just like my car to roar. the 05s i saw at a stang meeting were really quiet coming in. []

If listening to your stereo is the most important thing then get the JBA's. If Total performance and a load exhaust note is your thing then get the SLP Load Mouth exhaust. I think for the money the JBA would be the best exhaust with mufflers. The SLP is I think $250.00 or so. SLP would be the cheapest and loadest.
