Need Help with Battery Cable.. Bad!
Ok so I was disconnecting the battery cable.
On the positive side of the cabe.. (where the red cover is), there is a bolt that is on the top (not set to the side like the others)
This nut is not on the other side..
Well it has these two metal pieces that are triangles that form a square when you put them together and they go under the nut that you screw down.
My guess is that it holds the nut to the proper distance up..
Well I am trying to screw it back but when I do the force of the nut is making the bottom half of the triangle force out... therefore I cant get the pieces to form a square...
I have tried some things including placing a piece of metal there to hold them together while I screw it down but the pressure drives it out again..
How can I get this stupid thing to go back the way it is supposed to be? I've never seen this on a battery before.
Do I need this piece? will it hurt if it does not fit exactly or is touching the metal part to the cable itself? Will it eventually come out if I cant get it to fit right? If it does the screw will come loose.
I really need some help with this damn thing. It is annoying me so BAD!
I had it where it was tight but not in the right place and when I drove to work the radio did a scan by itself and I was worried it was messing something up by touching the metal on the cable to the battery itself.
I need some help! Thanks
