(helpful hint)Royal Purple 5spd gear oil swap
Hey everyone,
Recently I swapped out the stock ATF fluid in my GT 5spd with RP's syncromax fluid. Refilling the tranny can be tough so i came up with a solution if you have someone else to help. I used a 2-2 1/2 ' rubber fuel line hose, I took the center console, shift boot and **** off.I moved the rubber boot that goes around the shifter and slid the hose down through the opening. I then got under the car and ran the hose into the fill hole till it stopped than backed it out a little. My buddy got in the car and connected the other end over the fill nozzle on the RP stuff and we filled it that way. I stayed under to make sure the hosenever came out of the tranny fill and we were good to go in about 15-20 mins, no SPILL!
I thought I would pass it on and save some of you the headache of making a mess and wasting product. After we were done I buttoned the car back up and it was unbelievable the difference with the shift and tranny noise! I highley recommend this stuff, it is awesome. I used the RPSyncromax gear oil.
Hope this helps someone.
See ya

I have a 5spd manual. I noticedmuch smoother shifts and more importantly the tranny is alot quiter. I used to get a click noise when I would switch from gear to gear and that is gone.

Did you swap ATF for RoyalPurple Gear Oil?
Who put the ATF in your 5 Speed? Ford?
No wonder it shifts better with no clicks......

^^^ um...ford DOES use atf (dexron 3-mercon) in the tr3650...when dm3 is phased out the spec will change to mercon v...royal purple gear oil would be the wrong fluid to use, the syncromax is the correct one...

So Newbie has an auto tranny. The 5 sp threw me.
Never heard of an auto being called a 5 speed.
I guess with the OD and such it is in sorts a 5 speed.
What a confusing post Mr. Newbie.
